GOODSWAY MOORINGS
A tiny community on the canal close to Kings Cross station & St Pancras International, Goodsway Moorings consisted of a handful of boat dwellers, amongst them Jake and Helen who had lived there for more than twenty years.
In 2007, following a long dispute with the Kings Cross Central Developers, they and the other residents were given a three-month notice to vacate the moorings in order to make way for the regeneration of the area (incl Central St Martins College of Art & Design which moved there in 2010).
These photographs were taken on the eve of the last residents' departure in December 2007. Commissioned by Central St Martins, the series is now part of the College archives.
